The Golf R is the Volkswagen Enthusiast’s car. The Golf R tuning platform thrives based on the very tuner friendly platform that Volkswagen brought to the community. The Golf R is likely the most modified platform out of any vehicle sold by the Volkswagen Automotive Group. Naturally, Driver Motorsport made sure their Golf R Tuning solutions were catered to please this client base.

The Golf R is equipped with all of Volkswagen’s latest revisions for the 2.0T FSI engine.

With all of Volkswagen’s hardware improvements to the Golf R’s engine and the EA113 engine generation being launched years ago with the Mk5 GTI Driver Motorsport is well acquainted with this platform. The Golf R despite being Model Year 2010 or newer, uses the MED9.1 ECU without any Tuning Protection measures in place. This makes the Golf R ECU relatively simple and easily flashed through the OBDII port despite the Golf R being a produced in the age of Tuning Protection ECUs.
